What We Do

ACA was created to be a non-profit backbone support organisation. In this, it is different from other backbone organisations, as we rely entirely on donations and the wonderful work of volunteers, for which we are immensely grateful, every day. We saw the need for this type of no-cost support, and here we are.

Advancing Communities Australia provides backbone support in various ways:

• We continue to actively work with our partners by providing services and consultancy to help assist them in their missions.
• We continue to invest in increasing our pool of volunteers; this means empowering them and working collaboratively on refining our organisational structure, human resource management, project management, policies and procedures etc., all in keeping with the recommendations of Volunteering Australia. 
• In general, our volunteers (affectionately known as Vollies or Superheroes) work behind the scenes with our partners, actively addressing issues relating to matters such as public awareness of non-communicable diseases, impact of climate change, as well as matters relating to health and mental in the local community.

We also respond to any Australian local non-profit organisations that approach us for support and have updated our website accordingly.
